Looking for Residual Evidence? Type “residue” in the Search Bar
One of my intentions when creating this website wasn’t merely compiling a list of every Mandela Effect, but also grabbing the disparate pieces of residue from across the Internet so they can be accessed from one central location. Since finishing the first phase of this website, I have been slowly uploading some of the residue I’ve found and collected. You may have noticed that there is a “Residual Evidence” tab for each Mandela Effect. Well, now when you click on that tab, you might actually find something.
However, to make it easier to find the residue that I’ve uploaded, I’ve marked the title of each post containing residue with the word “residue.” This means, if you search for it in the search bar, you can find every bit of residue that’s on this website. You can also find it on the side menu to the left, cleverly disguised as Residual Evidence.
Strangely enough, during my search for residue, I found a Flickr page titled “Mandela Database.” Unbeknownst to me, I had a predecessor who had done similar work, gathering residue into one central location on Flickr. I’ve copied most of it to this website, but I am grateful for whoever it was that did all of this work nearly five years before me.
Residual evidence sometimes matches that which we remember but no longer is. Other times, it contradicts what we remember, as we think that what is always was. There is never universal agreement on Mandela Effects, and thus we can never be sure that what is now always has been. Perhaps residue is merely a form of encouragement to keep going. Or maybe its a reminder to show us that what we remember is not wrong. In fact, it can never be wrong. Because somewhere, it is exactly how you remember it. That somewhere may just not be the here and now.
The search is ongoing. If you’ve got residue to share, please pass it along. We can see it, so we should share it.
